Lucy, Jess and Netty take on Mt Kilimanjaro · 14 February 2014

We work to end the exploitation of wild animals and create a future where people and wildlife live in harmony. Across the world, we protect, rescue and care for wild animals in need, while helping communities coexist peacefully with wildlife. Help us take action — and keep wildlife in the wild.

Story

·         The three of us have decided to challenge ourselves by climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain on the African continent and the highest free-standing mountain in the world (5895m). Since coming up with this crazy idea we have booked to start our climb on the 14th of Feb 2014 making our ambitious dreams a reality!

None of us have ever undertaken something this physically and mentally demanding before, and to help motivate us to achieve this momentous task we have set for ourselves, we have decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to raise money for an amazing organisation called The Born Free Foundation.

Wildlife conservation is something that is close to our hearts and The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity that works all over the world to stop individual wild animal suffering and protect threatened species in the wild. Every year, Born Free helps hundreds of thousands of animals worldwide, and we would love to help contribute to keep these projects going and make a difference. Along with raising funds for this charity we would love to be able to adopt a few african animals that need our help. The first on our list to adopt is Douglas the Hippo who needs three litres of milk every two hours followed by Chimanuka and Mugaruka who are rare wild silverback gorillas in the congo who need to be kept safe from poachers (poor Mugaruka has lost a hand in a deadly wire snare).  Check out their website and see the amazing work they do, www.bornfree.org.uk

We would love if you could show your support for us climbing Mt Kilimanjaro by donating towards this deserving charity! It doesn't matter if it's big or small, everything will help make a difference!
