Story

23/4/12.

Well hello all.

I can't believe it! I DID IT!! :) Right now I am feeling a bunch of different things ranging from a ridicilous amount of pain, to an overwhelming sense of achievement, and also a small bit of sadness that it's all over.

The London Marathon and it's training has been a huge part of my life for the past six months and I want to say a HUGE Thank You to everyone who has helped me along the way. From Family and friends who have supported me, giving me that buzz everytime I recieved an e-mail saying someone else has donated. In particular Darren who has helped me every stage of the way. My brother Shaun, who has been on the end of the phone whenever I had a "training" question, aswell as running with me come rain or shine. To the fantastic charity "YoungMinds" who kept me motivated, reminding me why I wanted to raise money for them in the first place, and finally to my trusty I-pod for keeping my music blaring into my ears, my feet for staying strong, and the people at the gym/in the park/along the seafront who have kept me entertained with their exercise regimes when it's been pouring down with rain and I'd rather be snuggled up inside my house eating Ben and Jerry's.

As previously mentionned when I started training, this has been something I'd wanted to do since 15 years old at secondary school. But this year I had that extra push due to personal reasons that I also spoke about briefly in my blurb before. Young Minds is such a fantastic charity, and I am so pleased that I was able to raise this money for them. With this they can continue to help young people deal with mental problems that society today still can't seem to get their heads around.

Thank you again for all your wonderful help it definately kept me going and pushed me right to the end.

Thank you again

Lucy x x x x x

November 2011.

Hello All....

WOW! Well this is slightly terrifying. The London Marathon has genuinely been something I've wanted to do since the age of 15 when a good friend and I sat in our Geography lessons planning it! :) Now ten years later, well 11 when it finally reaches the day, I will be (fingers crossed) achieving it!!

Over the years I have struggled to decide on a charity to run for, there are SO many worthwhile causes, but this year in particular I decided that I wanted to run for one that supports Mental Health. Mental Health affects so many people in so many ways and over the past year this illness particularly effected me and my family with the unfortunate passing away of someone close to us. This was just another push for me to do this and raise some money for a relevant chairity while also being able to run in memory of him.

If you know me at all, you know I enjoy a challenge and this certainly is going to be my biggest challenge yet. I really hope that I can get as much support as possible and help a worthwile charity. As you can see, my target is £1500.00 and during the next 5 months I will be doing as much as possible to raise this and so any extra help and support would be HIGHLY appreciated!!

Please take a look at the charity's website and see what great work they do.

http://www.youngminds.org.uk/

Thank you
