Bupa Great South Run 2009 · 25 October 2009 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

My running shoes seem to have reattached themselves to my feet and I am foolishly planning to run the Great South on the 25th October, a 10-mile course through Portsmouth.

I am running for the Stroke Association, a fantastic charity which aims to prevent strokes and offer care to those who have been affected.  About 150,000 people are struck every year and strokes are in fact the third highest killer in the UK. The charity is the only organisation in the UK to focus soley on stroke prevention and your support will make a real difference to their research and the support they offer to many families.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Thank you very much in advance for your support. It will make such a difference to the Stroke Association and to my running feet on the day.

Photographic evidence may be available if Jonny the intrepid photographer has his way :)
