Story

Thank you very much for visiting my fundraising page.

I am raising money for a medical research fund at Kings College Hospital which is for clinical trials for the MAP Vaccine. The MAP Vaccine is widely believed to be a cure for Crohn's Disease, and we're well on our way to having the money needed to put them through.

Crohn's Disease is a chronic disease which currently has to cure available, there are many medicines used to treat the symptoms of Crohn's disease,  but even the medicines can have devastating effects on day to day lives. Crohn's disease causes inflammation anywhere in any part of the Digestive System, this in turn damages the bowel which can lead to a large array of symptoms including nausea, non stop vomiting, diarrhoea, severe abdominal pain, back pain, ulcers everywhere in the digestive tract, abscesses, joint pain, malnutrition, gall stones, hair loss, fatigue, vision problems and depression.

There are currently 90,000 people living with Crohn's Disease in the UK and 8,000 new cases being diagnosed each year, we need the vaccine now!

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2012, I was extremely unwell at the point I was diagnosed and was untreated with symptoms for over 9 months, but for some people it can be a lot longer. Due to this I was unable to continue my university degree and I lost my Job. I have been in and out of remission but my Crohn's has never really settled which is why I want to be cured not managed. It's time to stop this disease ruining lives. I along with a team of fundraisers are hoping to raise the total amount, so please give anything you can it all helps so much!
