Story

Thanks for taking time to visit our just giving page, our family - Guy,Wendy, Matthew and Charlie are cycling 972 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End to raise money for two charities which are both very close to our hearts.

Given our collective passion for sport and our joint interest in cycling, we decided to push ourselves to the limit and ride the length of the country. We are aiming to do the 972 miles in 8 days – averaging 121.5 miles per day.

Our chosen charities are Help for Heroes and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Help for Heroes is a charity which is closely supported by our family and
friends. Matthew is a Royal Marines corporal and has served with them since
2009, this has given Help for Heroes a place in all of our hearts and we remain strong supporters of the cause and the injured troops whose lives are transformed by the charity.

We are particularly strong supporters of Macmillan Cancer Support, given the immense support they have given close members and friends of our families in very difficult times. No matter how fit and healthy we aim to keep ourselves, cancer could be just around the corner and the help and support on hand from Macmillan in these very difficult times is invaluable.

Although we know the ride will be tough, with blisters galore, aching muscles from start to finish and no doubt constant rainfall given the English summer tendencies; we also know how much good the fundraising can do to those who will benefit from donations. So dig deep into pockets and piggy banks and help us make it all worthwhile!!
