Brighton Marathon 2014 · 6 April 2014 ·

CLAPA is the national UK charity supporting people affected by cleft lip and palate. We provide specialist feeding equipment, trusted information, one‑to‑one and online support, youth services, and community events, while raising awareness and championing better cleft care for all.

Story

It's that time of year when I do something ridiculous to raise money for CLAPA. Last year we raised a phenomenal amount from the 100k challenge and ball. The 100k challenge left my knees in somewhat disrepair, so I figured a marathon would be more realistic this year!

As the majority of you all know I am hugely passionate about CLAPA and what they do. Soph recently met with her surgeon and medical team and although she doesn't need any operations or care at the moment. She still requires various operations in the near future. Recently I have become more involved with CLAPA and the services they provide. This has only made me more determined to provide as much help and raise as much funds and awareness as I possibly can. The charity is solely dependant on charitable donations. So every little really does help!

After the success of last years ball we have decided to make it an annual event. This year it will be held on 2nd may (CLAPA awareness week is 19th-17th may) hopefully we can start the week with a huge amount raised. For any more information on the ball you can contact me on 07792561073, lucyjane_scott@yahoo.co.uk.

Once again thanks for your generosity. Knowing the difference your money will make Is hugely motivational.

Lucy xx
