Last year I took part in this challenge and it was one of the toughest things I have ever done but it was so worth it in more ways than I could have ever imagined.
My sister has suffered with anxiety and depression for many years and I have often felt unable to help her enough, feeling at times that I might say the wrong thing or not pick up on when she needed me the most. I worried that I didn't understand her or what she was going through and a little part of me thought maybe, just maybe if I took part in this challenge it would show her how committed and dedicated I was to supporting her fight through her dark times and that even though I didn't always understand how she was feeling - I loved her more than life itself, what I didn't realise was what an amazing and life changing experience it would actually be!
Being part of the R. E. D Challenge and supporting the fantastic charity MIND gave me was a chance to see inspiring people fighting through their tough times, supporting each other, sharing highs and lows, giving encouragement, laughter, kindness and understanding.
They have taught me how to see Depression and anxiety in a whole new light.
This year I am being joined by my amazing little boy Harry who is just 10 years old and wants to show his determination and support for MIND by raising awareness and much needed funds to support others like my sister.
We are all affected by Mental Health Issues at some point in our lives. It might be tough times that we go through personallly or someone we love and care about and it's thanks to the wonderful work that MIND do that no one ever has to go through it alone.
Please support us in any way you can, thank you
