Brentwood Half Marathon 2014 · 23 March 2014 ·

Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Brentwood Half Marathorn to raise money for The Neuroblastoma Society to support Lily a beautiful 2 year old little girl.   I am running as part of Lily's Legends which grown from a group of 5 or 6 people to  a small army of over 200 people ranging from 8-68 years old who want to do something to support this little grl.

About Lily:

Lily was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was 20months old in August 2013. It is a rare, aggressive type of cancer, affecting only 100 children a year in the UK and early detection is paramount to successful treatment. Symptoms are similar to many common childhood illnesses which means it is often misdiagnosed. It was the persistence of Lily's parents with the doctors that has literally saved Lily's life; it has hopefully been caught early enough to treat successfully. By running the marathon we are hoping to raise awareness of this awful disease. If we can enable just one parent to catch it early & save their child's life, then something good can come out of everything our brave little Lily, her parents, siblings, grandparents & the rest of her family have endured.

I personally have never met Lily or her family  but my gorgeous little man Cameron is the same age as Lily.  I can only imagine what Lily and her famiy are and will have to go through and I am running to show my support and raise money for this great cause.

Any donation you could give would be absolutely amazing.  Thank you so much x x
