I am attempting to trek 25 miles along Hadrian's Wall to raise money for Caring Matters Now a charity very close to my heart.

Not only am I going to trek this distance, which is quite a challenge in itself.........I also need to overcome my fears of sleeping under canvas in a teeny weeny tent! Now that is a challenge! :0

Caring Matters Now provides much needed support and information to those affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi Syndrome, a rare skin condition with many associated medical complications which can prove fatal. 

As you may already be aware this is the condition my daughter was born with back in 2005. When she was first born we knew very little about the condition but thanks to Caring Matters Now we are learning more and more about this rare disorder.

Caring Matters Now is a charity that provides vital funds to further the pioneering research into CMN syndrome at Great Ormond Street and The Institute of Child Health in London. They work hard to raise awareness about the condition and provide an important support programme for all those affected by CMN syndrome. 

Due to the great support we have received from Caring Matters Now, our daughter has continued to flourish and grow and is a pretty, happy, confident young girl who doesn't let her condition stop her achieving what she wants to achieve.

She overcomes negativity towards her condition and looking different and we are extremely proud of her. 

So the money raised from doing this event will help towards funding the research, providing support and information to others affected by CMN and help increase the awareness about the condition and its associated complications.
