Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
In September 2010 we successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (5895 m) to raise vital funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
JDRF is the only charitable organisation in the world with the primary objective of finding the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. Type 1 diabetes is a chronic, life threatening condition which has a lifelong impact on those diagnosed with it and their families. It normally strikes children and stays with them for the rest of their lives. JDRF exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes.
JDRF funded a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, that I undertook in 1992-95, so I know first hand that research is key in answering our questions. Type 1 diabetes is a serious disease, that leads, if not controlled, to serious vascular complications that can lead to blindness, renal impairment, and increased cardiovascular diseases.
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated as it will help many people with this condition. Let's fight for a good cause, and for a healthier world.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Of the funds raised, approximately 10-15% will contribute towards the expenses of the challenge.
So please donate now by clicking the box "donate now".
Thanks a million
