Lukas and his class are going on a class trip to mark the end of their 8 years together in school. Its a kind of rite of passage, they'll learn loads of great new outdoor skills and independence in advance of their GSCE years.
They need to fund raise to go on this trip, so with help from a super keen cycling parent the class are going on - the 2012 Ride of Passage. They are all 13-14 years old and have not ridden much before. We'll be riding from Reading to Gloucester, via Bristol off road in three days. It will be 150 miles in total and 50 miles a day. The most any of them has done before is 10 miles. It will take months of training and hard work to achieve this great challenge.
The children didn't just want to raise money for their trip however. They also wanted to help children and their families in East Africa, sufffering with the current drought situation. So we are also raising money for ActionAid. You can find out more about them here www.actionaid.org.uk
