Story
I have decided to embark on a small motorcycle adventure from Lands End to John o Groats towards the end of July 2011 with a good friend to raise money for charity, my choice being the St Michaels Hospice, Basingstoke. As a maintenance engineer I've witnessed first hand the great work carried out by the Hospice and know how much the additional money would be appreciated by both the staff and patients.
Also riding for a great cause is Chris Lacey and Dean Broadbent.
We are aiming to where possible avoid motorways and take the more 'scenic' route!
While I appreciate money is tight for everyone at this moment in time, please dig deep and donate as little or as much as you can afford.
Money raised could contribute towards the following:
| £45 | Hospice at Home nurse visiting a patient for 3 hours during the day |
| £100 | One hours nursing care on the In-Patient Unit |
| £350 | Cost of a Day Care session for upto 15 patients |
| £800 | Cost of a syringe driver to administer pain relieving drugs |
| £1,500 | Catering for Hospice patients for one month |
| £5,000 | Cost of running St. Michael's Hospice at Home service for one week |
For the bikers out there I've included a picture of my bike:
Honda CB1300F3
Chris's Bike:
Harley Davidson Sportster
Deans Bike:
Triumph Speed Four
Thanks for your help!!
