Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·
The lure of the London Marathon was too strong. 2 years on I have forgotten about the pain and I'm back to run the famous course again. Through snow, rain, sleet and a few rather large bogs I have travelled to get to the start line. Frankly, I should have taken a bus. To give me that extra impetus when my little legs get tired, I am doing the marathon for two great causes - Whipps Cross Maternity Ward and the Hospice in the Weald. This page is for the Hospice in the Weald.
The hospice is a charity close to my heart. They do amazing work in Kent where they provide specialist palliative care advice and clinical support for people with life limiting illness, their family and the bereaved. As well as nursing and medical services they provide family support, bereavement counselling, spiritual care and health information. No charge is made for the services, which are provided on the basis of need rather than ability to pay.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
My other page for Whipps Cross Hospital Maternity Ward is http://www.everyclick.com/lukes_big_push.
Thank you so much for your support. It means a great deal to me, the charity and most of all the people they support.
