Moving Mountains is a progressive charity with over 15 years experience, run by teams who are highly experienced in the development sector. We fund social welfare, educational and health projects in Nepal and East Africa, where we have set up our own NGOs.

Story

Hello and thank you for visiting the page! In June I have the incredible opportunity of travelling out to Africa with Leeds RAG (Raising And Giving) in aid of the outstanding charity 'Moving Mountains'.

First of all we will be spending a week in Kenya helping out on one of their numerous projects in the country. Our main focus will be the building of a secondary school next to the primary school that the charity has already built. This is extremely exciting as we will be meeting the people benefitting from all the hard work that is being done by the charity and witness first-hand the great impact on lives that your generous donations are making.

The second week of our trip will be spent in Tanzania climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to reach the ‘Roof of Africa’! This is the challenging part, and as well as being a wonderful life experience will also hopefully inspire a lot of you to sponsor me and help in my pledge to fundraise for the people that deserve our support in much harder life situations than many of us could even imagine.

Keep track of how fundraising is going with justgiving, get a full view of how the trip pans out and see where all your generous donations are going! And who knows maybe you will be so inspired that you will take on a challenge for charity yourselves in the future so that together we fight poverty and make the world a better place!

Thank you for sparing some of your time to read this and please donate generously, you will not regret it! Of the £2300, £1225 goes straight to the charity! The remaining £1025 will go towards some of the expenses for our trip when out in Africa.

Your donation will be split between going directly to the charity and covering costs such as accomodation and paying the staff wages out in Kenya, although obviously will NOT be used for personal expenses like flights, visas, etc... Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
