Story
We are a close-knit family and my children sorely miss their Grandad, Geoff Gladwell, who died at the young age of 62, after being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. He passed away within 6 weeks. Grandparents are very important to children, and I am therefore doing this for them; Josh, Anna, and Lily, as Geoff was a figurehead for our family. I am going to walk up Kilimanjaro between 14-25 September 2010, with one of my good friends, Julian, who lost his brother last year to cancer at the young age of 43. At this point in my life I feel that I would like to take this opportunity to participate in this kind of event where I can help to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause which will help other people and their families.
Please sponsor me and help get me started towards my target. Dig deep - it will make you feel good!! Thank you Penny Brohn Cancer Care is a pioneer in complementary cancer care: the Bristol Approach. Being diagnosed with cancer or being told that cancer has returned can be a traumatic and life-changing event. People often describe feeling shocked, disorientated, angry, frustrated, scared, isolated, in need of support and often unsure what to do for the best. The charity above that I have chosen can help change the way people live with cancer. Medical investigations and treatments can be intensive, stressful and draining. At this time Penny Brohn Cancer Care can provide information, psychological and emotional support and practical lifestyle advice. The Bristol Approach is a program of complimentary therapies and self-help techniques that provides support throughout treatment and recovery.
