Let me tell you a little bit about my story.

Cancer. One of those words no one wants to hear, yet when you hear it your heart hits the floor, sinks through the floor to the centre of the Earth. A few years ago that word appeared in my families world and was accompanying my Grandad. It wasn't long but we lost him and after rebuilding the family from the floor up, that word, popped up again.

Unfortunately it was my Nan this time and early in 2016 I, we, lost my Nan to cancer, again.

I am passionate about sport and enjoy running so chucked my name in the ballot for the London Marathon 2017 and, fortunately/ unfortunately (Take that how you will) got a place.... however, things got in the way and I just wasn't in the right frame of mind with running at the time and I deferred my place to 2018.

This year is my "actual" attempt, or 2.0 if you like. I am determined and ready and am putting the miles in week on week in preparation for the best marathon in the world (So I've been told).

The charity I have chosen is Move and you will hear a little bit about them in a bit, but Why Move? Well it encompasses two things I am passionate about, sport and cancer. My grandparents always supported me and my and siblings sporting activities when we were younger right up until we started earning money through part-time jobs. They would travel away and pick us up when our parents couldn't and paid for memberships and lessons and never asked for anything in return. The money you donate will go towards supporting other young adults going through a difficult period in their lives through the power of sport and physical activity!

Move is a fantastic charity that provides 1-2-1 support for young people aged 7-25 through sport and exercise.

£1300 will go towards sponsoring a young person living with cancer, providing 1:1 support for a young adult or child, and this support is for a whole year!
