London to Brighton · 16 June 2013

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

I have stupidly signed up to partake in the London to Brighton Bike Ride on 16 June 2013 with a team from work. Although I think they may all speed off and leave me at the start line...

I have only recently bought a bike so this is the first time I have owned one since i was 15 years old.

As some of you may already know, i was born with a congenital heart defect, also commonly known as 'hole in the heart' and had corrective key hole surgery at 11 years old, although it is likely I will need further surgery in the distant future.

BHF have also helped a good friend whose baby boy was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome leaving the left ventricle of his heart severely underdeveloped and at 1.5 years old has already had two major operations, one at just over a week old.

Please sponsor me and help raise money for this amazing cause.

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please donate big and help me make this terrifying day more worth while :)
