<p>I've signed up for a 10 day trek through the Lares region of Peru, in aid of Havens Hospices. We will be trekking through high mountain passes, green valleys and snow capped Andean mountains, ending at Machu Picchu. Our accommodation is a snug two woman tent, temperatures plummet at night! I've never done anything like this before and it will be quite a challenge for the unfit woman who is scared of snakes and creepy crawlies and likes to have somewhere to plug in her hairdryer......I'm very excited and especially lucky to have the support of my family and friends and have already received many messages of&nbsp;encouragement - several querying my sanity!!</p> <p>Our family is extremely grateful to Fair Havens who cared for David's father and more recently Tanya's father who goes there every week to the Day Care Centre.
