Would you walk over hot coals for the one you love? I’ll do it in memory of my little girl.
For those of you who know me well, you will know that my role within Clowns is very much based at the keyboard, I don’t do the running, cycling, swimming or come to think of it anything that is too physical stuff; I leave that to the “athletes’” out there.
Well now it is my time to stand up and be counted; Clowns in the Sky are holding a fundraising Fire Walk evening on Saturday 10 September at: The Foxhound Public House, Orsett, Essex, RM16 3ER @ 7.30pm and I have decided it’s time to do my bit for sponsorship. There is no training required for this event just a tiny winy bit of courage and my little girl showed me what courage really is;
It’s smiling each morning despite what lay ahead in her treatment plan
It’s telling me she loved me and it was ok that I’d help to administer medication that caused her pain
It’s caring enough for others that she would offer her play activities for other children on the ward to share
And it’s holding my hand and squeezing when she knew I was having a bad day
My beautiful little girl showed me enough courage in her nine months of treatment to last me a lifetime.
Her spirit of fun and laughter is what inspired Clowns in the Sky and it’s that same spirit that keeps us going in these difficult financial times. The children that Clowns in the Sky help still need the same level of commitment from us as they did seven years ago when the charity was founded and so we continue to try and raise sponsorship to support all the aims of Clowns in the Sky.
Would you please sponsor me, any amount is welcomed and much appreciated, I do live in the real world and I know we are all feeling the pinch these days.
Of course, if you are feeling courageous you can come and join me, we are asking for a minimum sponsorship of £100 per walker so if you feel you can raise this, please contact me to register for this event on 10 September 2011.
Thank you for taking the time to read this
Kindest wishes,
Lyn x
