On May 25th, Nicky Smith and I will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon with the aim of raising as much money as we can for Macmillan Cancer Support. We both committed to do this in memory of my partner Nick, Ruari and Rob's dad, who passed away last August. Nick was a lovely, gentle man who bore his illness with courage and dignity, and never gave up hope. We love him and miss him dreadfully. Unfortunately in the last few months of his life some of the vital support he had come to rely on was lost when the MacMillan centre at St John's Hospital in Livingston closed. Hopefully by raising money for Macmillan we can help them to open another centre in West Lothian to support others fighting cancer.
