Liverpool Half Marathon 2011 · 27 March 2011 ·

The Newborn Appeal provides specialised equipment to help with the care of tiny and delicate babies, alongside funding research to improve the quality of care for babies looked after on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Story

My husband John is running the Liverpool Half Marathon on March 27th for The Newborn Appeal at Liverpool Women's Hospital.

On 8th September 2010, my friend Rachael had her beautiful twins, Olivia and Harry. They were born premature. Sadly Olivia passed away on 20th October 2010 aged just 6 weeks.

John is running in memory of Olivia, a special little girl, who will always be remembered.

Olivia's short life was spent at the neonatal unit in Liverpool Women's hospital. The facilites, staff and expertise at this hospital make a huge difference to many lives, making sure that the babies get all the love and care that they need. My nephews Josh and Zach also spent the first 10 days of their life in this unit, so this charity is very close to my heart.

Please take the time to sponsor John, even a few quid will be great! Am sure it will make him run that little bit faster!
