Story

<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p> <p style="background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; line-height: normal;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: black; font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;serif&amp;quot;; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">On June 11th I will be joining of group of 40 pilgrims (peregrinos) from the Diocese of Bath &amp; Wells. I will be walking the final 100 miles of the <strong>Camino to Santiago de Compostela </strong>in Northern Spain. The pilgrimage is both a spititual and physical journey; <strong>100 miles </strong>in 8 days. The Camino is a well trodden route completed by contless pilgrims and ends with the magnificent Pilgrim's Mass in Santiago Cathedral.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> I signed up for the trip in November 2010 and thinking I had plenty of time to get fit I didn't start training until January this year when I spent a week on the Quantocks, walking for hours each day in the snow! Unfortunately I slipped on ice at the end of my holiday and ended up in hospital for a few days. The injury to my knee and ankle meant that I had to wear a leg splint for the next six weeks - somewhat hampering my training regime. Back on 'track' now, you may have seen me walking the lanes and footpaths of Somerset.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> Those of you who know me well will know that Frank, my husband, has a rare, life limiting, neurological disease Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Frank spent some time in St Margaret's Hospice in Yeovil prior to him being transfered to a residential Nursing Home where he now lives.</span></p> <p style="background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; line-height: normal;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="color: black; font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;serif&amp;quot;; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">Frank's own Story:-</span></strong></p> <p style="background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; line-height: normal;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: black; font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;serif&amp;quot;; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">My illness first became evident in 2005 when I </span><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;serif&amp;quot;; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">noticed that I was stammering over the odd word, my writing was becoming illegible, and I had pains in my right arm.
