The death rate of new mothers decreased by 70% in the first hospital where we delivered multi-disciplinary team-training on clinical management of maternity emergencies. We use small-group teaching in skills-stations and scenarios, to improve knowledge and team-work, and teach all maternity staff.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am trying to raise the cost of an airfare to Malawi [£1084.00 in 2011]

Scotland Malawi Anaesthesia [www.smap.org.uk] runs refresher courses for Malawian Clinical Officers in obstetric anaesthesia, intensive care and paediatric anaesthesia. This involves sending anaesthetists from Scotland to Blantyre [Malawi] I have now been to Malawi on four occasions -the courses are always met with great enthusiasm from the delegates and the hope that there will be another course. The Malawian instructors are taking an increasing role as teachers but still require guidance. Any donation you can give to help this project continue would be great.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
