Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Marathon day is now behind us, if you would like to know how it went, please visit http://lynsmarathon.blogspot.com/ I now have the (arguably harder) task of collecting money from those who did not pledge on-line! To those of who who have already given, a biiiiig 'Thank You'. This page will remain open for donations until June, so it is not too late if you haven't donated but would like to do so.
Between 30-50% of people suffer from back pain at some time in their lives. For the lucky ones this will be an isolated event. However, many are not so fortunate and back pain is the leading cause of disability in the UK. On a personal note, I have suffered from back problems for more than 20 years and this has only really improved since I started running. Therefore it seemed obvious to make 'Back Care' the beneficiary of funds raised through this, my first ever marathon. There are many demands on people's finances these days, and many 'good causes' in need of support. 'BackCare' does not have the emotive appeal of some charities and I think that has made findraising harder. True, back pain does not usually kill you. However, it can make you wish you were dead!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BackCare will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
