Brighton Marathon Weekend 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·

As a local charity to the Brighton Marathon Weekend, we're aiming to raise as much as we can to help improve care for patients across our four hospitals. Please take a minute to support our runners and cyclists taking on a challenge!

Story

After the success of the Horsted Keynes Lands End to John O'Groats team challenge during April, we were asked if we would like to take a couple of the free spaces they had for the Brighton Marathon weekend in September. Being that this was my 44th birthday weekend, and I had not yet done anything like this before, I decided to opt for the 10k, and see if I can work my way towards a half marathon or even full version!

In these exceptional times, it is great that we have rallied to recognise and support the Key workers that have kept this country afloat at the cost of their own welfare or safety. I also survived a Brain tumour in 2005 thanks to the Hurstwood Park ward at Princess Royal, and I think that it's only right that we do what we can in our way to repay the work that Doctors, Nurses and all hospital staff do, so this is my effort.

The money raised will go to the Neurological teams at BSUH.

All donations gratefully accepted, nothing too small to make a difference to the total, thanks.
