Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who know me will know that my lovely Dad Joe who was raised in an Orphanage and worked hard all his life has had Dementia since early 2009 -at a time when he should have been enjoying his retirement and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Sadly my Dad is now in a care home. I try where possible to participate in any event to raise not just funds but awareness of this illness. Since my Dad was diagnosed my family and I have had to painfully watch him diminish as he has slowly lost the ability to do the simple things that we all take for granted, like doing a crossword and reading the paper, also a thing he loves most which is singing, and all of which he has now forgotten how to do. This process as anyone who has experienced it, knows, is heart breaking as now my Dad struggles to recognise myself or my siblings. and I would like everyone reading this to please sponsor me, however small to help further research to achieve a world without dementia...I would like to thank each and everyone of you in advance...
