Raising money for Myositis Support Group

The Myositis Support Group is a UK charity providing advice and support to sufferers of Dermatomyositis, Polymyositis, Inclusion Body Myositis and Juvenile Dermatomyositis and their families. The MSG also funds and promotes medical research that improves diagnosis, treatment, management and understanding of these diseases.

Let me explain why -

I have known Lorna for quite a few years - we work together for the same pharmaceutical company and have become great friends. Her daughter was recently diagnosed with Juvenille Dermatomyositis, a rare and horrendous illness. Although they both remain strong and positive, I know that this disease has had a huge impact on their lives and I want to do something to help. Lorna makes me laugh everyday and her daughter is hilarious - she is amazing and a real fighter ! She has had countless medical interventions and is constantly challenged by this illness - she has recently been to Great Ormond Street for treatment, but remains positive.

The Myositis Charity have been amazingly supportive to Lorna and her daughter but need to raise much needed funds for research into the disease. They have a limited amount of spaces allocated for the Marathon and have given two to Lorna and I - who will be running this together. So, this is extra special.......and I need to raise some serious money for this group.
