Story

From all of us at Marks and Spencer Bexhill thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

8,500 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour every year and over 3,500 people will die. Yet less than 2% of cancer research funding is spent on brain tumours.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the UK's largest dedicated funder of brain tumour research and are determined to improve diagnosis and treatments and find a cure. They are the only brain tumour charity to lead on a UK-wide awareness campaign - HeadSmart: be brain tumour aware will reduce long term disabilities and ultimately save lives.

M&S Bexhill have come together to raise money and
most of all awareness for The Brain Tumour Charity. A charity that has affected
so many people including the staff here at M&S. Ross Hastings, one of our
Runners for the half marathon lost his brother Lee Hastings last year and this was partly
why we chose this charity for this year.

Brain Tumours are no longer a rare illness, we see them everywhere we look. Let's try to raise as much as possible to get rid of the deadly illness once and for all!

We are having different types of events throughout the
year, which include an in store Waxathon on the 18th of July so come along to
watch people scream in agony for charity!

Next would be our Charity Boot Sale! our staff at M&S
Bexhill have been collecting bits they don’t want from home and donating it to
us to sell at a future Boot Fair, the date for this is not yet confirmed but it
should be within a couple of months, we will update everyone when we know more
details. (Any donations will be welcomed)

Next up will be a games day in store such as guess the
amount of sweets in the jar, Price is right etc. also date not confirmed, will
keep you up to date when we get more details.

We have collection pots all over the M&S Bexhill
store so if you want to just donate while you're shopping then just ask a
member of staff and we will show you to the pots.

Now for the big one! The Poppy Half Marathon!!! We are
hoping to raise a lot of money for this great cause! We have a lot of staff
running and would love for everyone to donate as much as you can, or even to
cheer us on.  The Runners so far from our store are:
Ross Hastings
Beth Wells
Vince Foot
Mia Cunningham
Lucy Cunningham
Dan Reed
Carolyne Evans
Brad West
Daisy West
Jonny Morris
Anne Cross
Amanda Humphrey
