Hi everyone, Just wanted to give you a little bit of background on why I have chosen to raise money for this particular charity.... My mum suffered severely with Psoriasis all of her life, as did her own mother and her sister who still lives with it now. There is no cure for this condition and there are many misconceptions about it too - my mum and other Psoriasis sufferers have had to endure name calling and being shunned by sections of society all due to a lack of understanding of the condition. Every single day of my mums life was spent dealing with psoriasis - the constant care of her skin, hospital visits, related illnesses from drug treatment - all of this with the knowledge that there was no known cure. On December 22nd 2010, my mum passed away - her passing being laregly due to not receving the correct treatment for her skin whilst in hospital. From that situation, I have decided to try and do something positive and that is to raise money and more importantly awareness about Psoriasis. The money raised will help towards ongoing treatments and who knows, maybe one day - a cure. I know times are financially difficult for most right now and we are often called upon to 'give generously' - the amount doesn't matter - even if it's 50p or £1, it all goes towards the same great cause.
