We are four art students based in London and Glasgow and next July we will be taking part in the ‘Mongol Rally’, a yearly charity rally that sees 300 teams drive a third of the way across the world from London to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. We are embarking in an ailing 1971 Bedford CF ice cream van. Not only do we plan to drive her there, but mechanics permitting, drive her back. The 8-10,000 mile trip could take up to two months and we will be passing through fifteen countries of varying climates and harsh terrains.


The whole idea of the rally is that it is far from easy. There are rules in place to ensure that participants choose the most impractical vehicles. We have taken this to heart and hope to have arguably the most outlandish vehicle on the rally (classic ice cream van). This will double as a brilliant multi-use platform to promote the cause and co-ordinate events and other fundraising activities.
