On the 4th of August I and some very good friends embark on a challenge which I am told is extremely difficult and very demanding, we plan to climb the 3 largest mountains in England Scotland and Wales all in 24 hours! Yes we probably are mad, especially at my age!! We have all decided to try and raise some money for deserving and worthy causes, my choice is Northampton General hospital where my youngest son Freddie was born. In particular I want to raise as much as I can for the children’s ward, the staff there do such a fantastic job and are in my opinion very worthy of every penny we can give to help make the lives of local children a little better.
Obviously we are taking the challenge very seriously indeed, you have too, so we have already climbed the three mountains individually, most recent being Ben Nevis at Easter, most of the mountain was covered in 4’ of snow, believe me it wasn’t easy! Personally this is a massive challenge for me, I’m not the fittest person, so I’ve been going to the gym 3 times a week to try and get up to the level of fitness required to complete the challenge without any lasting damage! Completing the challenge with me will be my brother in law Pete, good friends Jan, Loz and Ian not forgetting the very important drivers, my eldest sons god parents and very good friends Pete and Bev. So team in place, training underway.....bring it on! Please give as much as you can afford, it will mean so much to the hospital and the children.
Thanks so much

The National Three Peaks Challenge is a well known phrase amongst the more adventurous. This challenge involves climbing the three highest mountains in the UK within 24 hours.
Despite it's growing popularity, no one should under estimate the difficulty of any of the challenges detailed on this website. It is very easy to get lost, particularly on the National Three Peaks and Welsh 3000s, and particularly when mountains need to be climbed in the dark or in poor weather.
