This coming September, 11 amazing volunteers from MSC will take part in the OSCAR Dragon Boat Race 2019 in the hopes of raising money for the OSCAR Campaign (Teh Ocean and Shipping Community Advancing Children's Health and Research) to support the charity's important research at Great ormond Street Hospiral for Children (GOSH).

The campaign is the inspiration of Phil Parry, whose son Oscar received life-saving care at GOSH, after being diagnosed with Leukaemia twice and enduring three transplants. Twelve years on from the experimental treaments that saved his life and that saved the lives of others since him. Oscar is now 20 and employed full time as a chef, cooking banquets in the livery halls of the City of London.

Remarkable medical breakthroughs have been made by the doctors and research teams at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, but the need for research funds remains desperate.

The bone marrow unit and cellular research teams cannot afford to do much of the work that is crucial to taking their work forward. By directing funds from the OSCAR Campaign appropriately, every donation can help them do that.
