At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

A special young lady last year inspired a few of us to take part in Spartan and fundraise for two great causes as the Run For The Hills team. In her memory, we have decided to keep going with the fundraising.

This year it isn't as challenging as Spartan but we will be taking part in a 10K memory walk for Alzheimer's Society.

The team will consist of some of the Run For The Hill team members in Liz Millward, Claire Millward, Jo House, Masha Shaverneva, and Mia Millward but we have some friends joining us in Julie Noble and Dave Wilcox, Lotta Lax, John Pickering, Mark Hinchliffe, Gordon Macfarlane, Shane Nowakowski and Michelle Pickering.

All of us walking have personally been affected by family members who have suffered from Alzheimer's and Dementia so therefore want to do all we can to help find a cure to fight this dreadful disease.

Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it’s the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
