Acid violence is perpetrated in a number of countries and has no link with any one particular culture, religion or set of values. However over 80% of acid attacks worldwide are carried out against women and occur in a domestic context and often relate to marriage, dowry or other family disputes.

 

Acid attacks cause untold physical pain and considerable psychological trauma – in many countries the treatment and care required by survivors is simply not available. This is where Islamic Help and its partners come in.
