Story

At the time that I signed up for this run, my boyfriend Steve's dad was terminally poorly with prostate and bone cancer. Mick Walker lost his fight on Thursday 8th March and passed away peacefully at home at 11.10pm that night, with his wife Sue, Steven and I with him.

Mick was an inspiration - he battled courageously and even at the end could still raise a smile and a laugh when telling us all sorts of motorcycling stories.

He was the author of over 130 books on the subject - and what Mick didn't know about motorcycling just wasn't worth knowing! It breaks my heart that he never got to hold his autobiography (The Ride of My Life) in his hand - the first off the press arrived 2 days after he slipped away.

So please dig deep for my run - The work undertaken by Macmillan just CAN'T be put into words.... they were FANTASTIC during Mick's brave fight....

RIP Michael John Gilbert Walker - we love and miss you -x-x-x-
