2010 Sheffield Half Marathon · 25 April 2010 ·

Cavendish Cancer Care is a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer. No one should face cancer alone, so we provide emotional support through counselling and complementary therapies. Our services are provided free of charge and are funded through donations.

Story

Well, where do I start, over a couple of glasses of wine (bottles actually) and a few games of Singstar me and my sister in law, Carrie thought it would be a great idea to sign up and run the Sheffield Half Marathon. The next morning, after realising that we had probably made this decision a little hastily we said we would sleep on it, however I had already told my manager at work that I had decided to do it! Big mistake, any of you who know Kate Senter will know that it is her mission to pass on her passion for putting her self though torture (she calls them marathons) to everyone in BD&C at Irwin Mitchell, despite the continuous complaints her colleagues make to HR. I shouldn't moan however, if it wasn't for Kate's bullying, sorry I mean persuasive nature, neither Carly (if her arms will make it 13.1 miles) or Amy (if her social calendar isn't too busy!) would have made the decision to join us and make the effort too.

Please donate what you can and help us reach our target of £450. None of us are runners but feel The Cavendish Centre is definitely worth the effort!
