Story

My name is Madeleine and I'm 19 years old. I'm in my third and last year at the Healthcare-program in Nässjö, Sweden. I've always been fascinated by Queen's music and Freddie Mercurys voice and charisma. As my school project I've chosen to put up a concert with Queen songs in Freddie Mercurys memory, on April 14. All money gained will be donated to Mercury Phoenix Trust (http://www.mercuryphoenixtrust.com), to support their fight against AIDS.

I've gathered 5 Queen fans to the band and we have been rehearsing intensively since September last year. It clearly shows that every ones hearts are burning for the music, and I’m looking forward to get on stage and show what we have been rehearsing on. Currently, one concert are planned and will be held in Nässjö on April 14.

As early as I was 12 years old, in the year of 2002, I thought Queen was a great band. I remember sitting in school, reading about Queen in our English-class. When I read the textphrase "In November 1991 Freddie died..." a strange feeling came over me. At that point I didn't know that Freddie had left us. It felt like a part of me died when I found out that he had been gone for many years already. I’m glad that I have found a way to help and support people with the same disease.
