Story

Im Known as madrider1961 since 2004 ive been helping charities & its well over due for me helping THE POPPY APPEAL.

So ive decided to ride a 125cc motorbike from R.N.A.S culdrose to Catterick Garrison between 31st march 2011 & 3rd April 2011 .Once at Catterick I will then take different route & finish back at R.N.A.S Culdrose. The ride will be done Day 1 Culdrose to Oxford area / Day2 Oxford to Catterick / Day 3 Catterick to Hereford / Day 4 Hereford to Culdrose .Appox ( 400/450 miles perday )

Bikerznet would like to offer its full support for Madrider1961 aka Stuart Morrissey on his latest charity bike ride, Stuart who has already raised thousands for various charities over the years, is setting out on an epic 2000 mile ride on his Honda CG125! Stuart who is registered disabled is determined not to let his disability hinder him from achieving great things on behalf of others and believes, to quote Stuart from his own website:

It does not matter what disabilities you have, if you have the determination you can achieve anything, I always believe that there is someone worse off than meThe charity ride in aid of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal will take Stuart from R.N.A.S Culdrose in Helston, Cornwall to Catterick Garrison, the largest Garrison in the British Army, located in North Yorkshire and back again, Via a different route, to R.N.A.S Culdrose. The four day ride, which starts on Thursday March 31st 2011, will take in many Army, Navy, RAF and M.O.D bases along the way, a fitting tribute to the British servicemen and women serving our country today.

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal is the leading UK charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served or who are currently serving in the Armed Forces and their dependants. The money raised from the appeal is used in many ways:

•Funds: To provide funds in a temporary crisis, such as homelessness, or assist with loans for property repairs and starting up a small business.
•Advice: Offering advice on War Pensions, Compensation Claims and also give Careers advice for those leaving the Forces. There is also a brand new scheme called Benefits and Money Advice which works closely with Citizens Advice and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund to offer advice and assistance on dealing with welfare benefits and debt issues.
•Homes: A major part of their welfare work is to provide short and long-term care for ex-Service people and their dependants in their seven Poppy Homes around the country.
•Breaks: They have four Poppy Break Centres for those recovering from an illness or bereavement, located in some of the country's most popular, traditional seaside resorts.
•Travel: Offer pilgrimages and tours to war cemeteries, memorials and battlefields worldwide, with each designed as a relaxing and informative holiday.
Looking at the impressive list of work carried out by The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, it is easy to see why Madrider1961 has chosen to raise money on their behalf.

Bikerznet will be making a donation to the charity bike ride and we hope you will also support Stuart by making a donation too!
