Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Brighton Marathon on the 18th April to raise money for Threshold Women's Counselling service; a Brighton Housing Trust project that offers services to women experiencing mental ill health and emotional stress such as depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide, post natal depression and self harm. All of Thresholds services are targeted at women living on low incomes who are vulnerable and experiencing social isolation.
I became aware of Threshold during my time as a health visitor in Brighton and Hove and was astounded by the quality of the services it provides. I was fortunate enough to see first hand the difference that it made to so many women's lives.
I am 62 years old now and having found a love for running a couple of years ago I felt the need to set myself a challenge. Not only will the Brighton marathon be a great personal challenge for me it will help to raise vital funds for Threshold. It has been a tough few years for this fantastic service and I feel proud to be doing my bit to support them in the work they do and the difference they are making to women's lives.
