Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I AM TRYING TO KEEP THIS AFFORDABLE & SIMPLE BY ASKING FOR £2 FROM AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE, over 1500 of you in fact! (was going to be £1 but £2 is the minimum on Just Giving!)

I know that times are tough & we are forever being asked to give here & there so I'm not asking for money you don't have. I know however that if you dig down the side of your sofa or on the top of the mantlepiece or in your coat pocket you can find me £2 & I will love each & every one of you for it.

So WHY & WHAT am I doing this all for?

This here (in the photo) is Wendy having a very Happy Birthday last July with her Granddaughters (my children) Daisy & Tabitha & Spotty the dog! Wendy loved 'her girls' and was their carer whilst I was at work, she lived with us 4 days a week & was a huge part of our family.

Wendy was the most wonderful Mum a girl could ever have had, sadly she died on October 31st 2011 aged (a young) 66. She died from a Subarachnoid Brain Haemorrhage, one minute she was fine the next in a Coma. Only half an hour before she was happily helping her youngest Daughter Nell with her Wedding arrangements. It is beyond comprehension, a healthy, fit, young at heart, kind, warm & funny lady, taken in just one single second.

You want to knowthe worse thing? Wendy's Mother died from the same thing at a similar age & Wendy's death could have & should have been prevented! You think that something like this will never affect you but think again because it can & it apparently does.

So here I am, unable to help my beautiful Mum but able to raise money for an organisation who help people to understand this condition & who help people who do manage to survive such a terrible ordeal.

The plan is to do a 10 day Trek in China with Headway, the Brain Injury Association. Now for you sport Billy types out there this might sound easy peasy but the fact is & those that know me can confirm, I am a lazy cow who enjoys Chocolate & Wine way too much! So, this believe me will be a personal challenge & I know that Wendy will be up there laughing at my efforts & excuses when it comes to the necessary training but will also be cheering me on greatly.

So please, go on, find me a £2, obviously I won't refuse more! ;0)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
