Footsteps International - Marafun · 12 May 2012 ·

Footsteps transforms the lives of orphans and street children…and much more. Managed by Christians, Footsteps works with trusted partners in Kenya where we run the Sunshine Centre for street boys, Tumaini Children’s Home, and and provide skills training, school fees and school lunch programmes.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In spring 2011, myself, Ruth Swift and Olivia Brown spent 6 weeks working with the Footsteps International projects in Kenya. We spent 3 of our weeks at the Sunshine Home, a home for ex street boys, in Naviasha and three weeks with the Tumaini project, a home for aids orphans, in Mombasa. It was an absolutely amazing trip, and though it is cliched to say it, a life changing experience for us all. Back at home, I decided I wanted to continue my support for the projects and people I had worked with in Kenya, by training and running the 10k run in the Footsteps marafun. Although not the most gruelling of distances, it has been a tough challenge for me , as I am definitely not a natural runner! I would be so grateful for any donation, great or small, and you can trust me when I say it, your money will be going to a very deserving group of people and children.
