My story

Helping Children Through Bereavement

I have been working for the past year with The Grief Encounter Project on a voluntary basis and have taken the plunge this year and decided to run the British 10K Run to raise much needed funds.  Grief Encounter are funded primarily through donations. Why not click on the YouTube link below and watch a short clip of the work we do. Here are some of the things your money will go towards:

- Helpline offering information, signposting and advice

- Counselling services via children's workshops, 1/1 counselling and/or support to the family as a whole

-  Consultancy work

- Training and outreach work to inform and empower professionals in their own contexts

How your Donations Help:

£10 Grief Encounter Workbook for a child

£30 A counselling session for a child

£50 A Grief Relief Kit

£100 3 workshops for a child

£1000 A Grief Encounter family day

Some Facts:

One third of bereaved children will experience difficulties following the death of their parent, brother or sister

1 in 29 schoolchildren in the UK will experience death of a parent, brother of sister
