<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;">The events of the past week in Japan have been deeply saddening and shocking. <span> </span>Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our friends and business colleagues there, as well as with the Japanese nation as a whole.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;">Even as I write this message, the scale of the horror is still sinking in and I am profoundly humbled by the decency, strength, stoicism and resilience of the Japanese people in the face of such a dreadful tragedy.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText">Whilst the immediate tragedy is Japan’s, the longer-term consequences include questions on structural risks and imperfections in the global electronics industry eco-system. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;">We have taken the decision to postpone our <a title="International Electronics Forum 2011" href="http://www.futurehorizons.com/page/71/International-Electronics-Forum-2011">International Electronics Forum</a>, which was due to be held in May until the autumn to show respect to Japan and our Japanese clients. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;">We would also like to donate as much money as possible to the recovery effort, therefore we are encouraging all our clients to make a donation via our Just Giving Page to help Japan through this extremely difficult time. </span></p>
