Story

In 2016 I was diagnosed with Keratoconus, a genetic eye condition that thins and mis-shapes the cornea causing blurred vision and sensitivity to light and glare. Keratoconus is a progressive condition that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated.

I was shocked! Out of my five siblings, I had the condition.

After watching my mother struggle with blindness caused by severe Keratoconus and enduring years of healing from corneal transplants, I was discouraged.

And after my first, excruciating eye surgery in 2019 I was anxious about what the future would hold.

But today I’m full of hope and determination, knowing that organisations like Fight for Sight are searching for a cause and a cure.

Fight for Sight is the leading UK charity 100% dedicated to funding sight loss research since 1965.

And I’m delighted to announce that they chose me to be a member of their running team for the London Marathon 2023!

I hope everyone can help me raise £2,000 to fund more research for a cure and cheer for me as I take on London Marathon on April 23, 2023.
