Welcome to the JustGiving page for Manchester KOP 2011!    Kenyan Orphan Project was set up in 2001 by three medical students with the vision to fight against poverty, disease, social exclusion and injustice and to help improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya.    Working with projects at a grass roots level in the Nyanza province of Kenya the aim of KOP is to improve the health and lives of children not just in medicine but in basic freedoms - from disease and poor sanitation, from lack of education and illiteracy, from economic and financial hardship, from gender and social inequality and from oppression and war.    Please give generously to help this amazing cause and support orphans and vulnerable children. Thank you all in advance!    UPDATE: This year Manchester KOP's money is going to support Ombeyi Feeding Centre, a fantastic project built by the work and fundraising effort of KOP student groups in 2007. Since that date KOP funding has maintained the supply of meals to children who otherwise may not have any other source of regular food. KOP has also installed a bore hole suitable to supply clean, fresh water to the facility and the local community.    Each member of Manchester KOP 2011 is aiming to raise £800, if you wish for your donation to go to the total of a specific member please state their name in your message.
