Story
We enjoy cycle touring. It’s a mixture of weight loss, sense of freedom, the natural high of any activity and the less natural frequent pub breaks.
•Cycling the length of a country provides a natural destination, which acts as a great pull specially on those more challenging days. Personally, I’ve cycled the length of Ireland and New Zealand and look forward to the home run. Land’s end to John O’Groats provides unique challenges British weather, pub closing times, traffic congestion and local accents.
•Usually UNICEF is my charity of choice, inspired by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman’s ‘Long way round’. After the UNICEF’s report on the well-being of children and young people in 21 industrialised countries and the UK coming a miserable last, we decided on a child’s charity closer to home. We believe some children in the UK are having a hard time of it and we are just doing our bit.
