This is the first race that I have ever done having just lost over 5 stone in weight!  The charity I have chosen is 'Over The Wall', a childrens charity.

Over The Wall’s unique residential activity camp experience provides children and young people affected by serious and life limiting illnesses with a week of fun, friendship and fulfilment in a medically supervised and safe environment.

The children have the opportunity to meet and overcome new challenges through a programme of social, creative and physical activities. The influence camp has on the children is profound: they find increased confidence to tackle the challenges they face in their daily lives such as coping socially and educationally with school after long absences or preparing themselves for yet more complex medical treatments – sadly, attending camp can sometimes be a child’s final wish.

Each summer Over The Wall host camps in Dorset, the Midlands and Scotland and their aim is to reach as many children as possible. Each Easter they run a separate camp for the siblings of these children who have their own struggles with the impact that a sick brother or sister has on the family.

Over The Wall are wholly funded by donations from their supporters – the change in the children after camp is the reason they exist.

I think this is an amazing charity and I am therefor dedicating myself to train for this race as I want to give something to those poor children that may not have a second chance at living as their first chance may be expiring far too soon. 

These children are always so brave and deserve a bit of happiness and something to look forward to.  Please help me to help them have something special.
