What is Red Balloon?
Red Balloon is a national charity that supports the recovery of bullied children. It has 10 independently funded learner centres throughout the UK that provide alternative full time education for youngsters aged between 9 and 18 who have been so severely bullied that they drop out of mainstream education. Red Balloon Reading will help the recovery of severely bullied children across the Thames Valley region

16,000 children in the UK are so badly bullied that they cannot go to school. The aim of Red Balloon is to aid their recovery by providing them with an 'intensive care' full-time academic and personal and social education programme so that they can return to mainstream school or go on to college.
