Maranda's 100K South Downs Challenge

South Downs 36hr 100k Walk -NEW with Discover Adventure · 27 June 2015 to 28 June 2015 ·
We live in a very close-knit community in Surrey and were all therefore shocked when our friends, Hazel and James - who had recently relocated to Holland - shared the devastating news that their very beautiful little boy, Tommy, had been diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia. Unfortunately, Tommy, passed away just a few weeks after his diagnosis at the age of just 18 months old. It was, and continues to be, a huge struggle for Hazel and James to deal with what what has happened. Seeing what challenges they face on a daily basis has inspired me and the other Team Tommy members to do something proactive in memory of Tommy for a charity that works tirelessly to find out more about childhood cancer. I am incredibly lucky to have known Tommy, even just for a short while, and am just sorry that I didn't know him for longer. Please check out the Team Tommy page (link below) to read Hazel's story in her own words.
The 100km walk is a big challenge as we walk day and night non-stop across the South Downs. We wanted to do something that we'd always remember (hopefully for the right reasons!) which is why me and the other team members are pushing ourselves to the max to complete the challenge.
Thanks so much for your support - I appreciate every penny!
