Tour de Sez 2021 · 5 September 2021
Well, training is successfully under way for my marathon cycle challenge this time next year.
My aim is to progressively build up my weekly target distance from 100 miles, which I have already achieved this week, up to 500 miles a week by the end of August next year.
The challenge
Not only am I desperately wanting to help support opportunities for children on this little island but I too was desperately needing a challenge since my knee op just under two years ago, and frustratingly not being able to get back to playing touch as soon as hoped, so I have signed up to the Tour De Sez.

This tour comprises of a bike ride from Guernsey (St Malo) to Rome, 1200 miles over 11 days, including some gruelling rides through the Alps.
Who am I raising money for -
The charity I am raising money for is the Sarah groves foundation, in memory of Sarah Groves, the backpacker from Guernsey who was found dead in India after a terrible stabbing. Her trial is still going on after 7 years.
The charity itself raises money to help support those children who are not as fortunate as many of us, to access art and sporting activities and bring some adventure into their lives, which, for those who know me, are two things that I feel quite passionate about.
Here is a link to charity page of projects they have been involved in...

I am very conscious that times have been tough for many recently, and therefore understand if you are unable to help out at this stage. I will be posting out on a few occasions throughout the year and looking to do other challenges to help me raise the total I need, so if you able to help then, that would be amazing.
For those who are able to donate, I would be very grateful for any amount that you are willing and able to give. Every little bit helps I can assure you.
Thank you in advance, please share with anyone you feel could help or would like to donate and I'll keep you informed on how things are progressing.
